Redundant Combo True redundancy requires diverse paths back to multiple Central Offices. Fiber and copper backup lines are often located within the same bundle and connect to the same Central Office. When the primary line goes…the backup goes with it! Our product truly represents redundancy and diversity and is competitively priced: about the cost of an existing local loop and Internet access.
Wireless Fiber Link We are confident your organization can benefit from our connectivity. Benefits that affect your bottom line: the financial impact of a build-out, realized productivity increases, business continuity, and simply time to deployment! We establish connectivity quickly and cost effectively. There are hundreds of locations with fiber access across the metro area. Seventy-five percent of businesses are within two miles of fiber, many are still waiting for build-outs. StoneBridge can bring the network to your location at a fraction of the cost of traditional deployments.
VLAN Our connectivity is scalable and can increase bandwidth as an organization’s needs increase. We can scale to your requirements on an individual site basis starting with capacities as little as 1.5 Mbps. VoIP
Security We have been diligent in our deployment of secure access devices. All terminals associated with a StoneBridge access point are synchronized by both frequency and clock, in order to transmit and receive data to and from the access point. In order for data to be intercepted, a wireless device must be employed and synchronized within the covered area of the access point. To be employed on the network a device must also have the correct ESSID (Extended Service Set ID). The ESSID is a password that only devices associated with a given access point is configured. Authentication also takes place between the terminal (customer) and the access unit (tower). Several forms of authentication and encryption are deployed on the StoneBridge network: RC4, WEP 128, and the Federal Government approved AES. (AES - Advanced Encryption Standard, is the mandated encryption standard for use by all federal agencies for sensitive unclassified information; AES also meets HIPAA security encryption requirements.) An encrypted authentication request takes place as follows: The joining terminal sends an authentication request, the access point returns a randomly generated challenge text. The joining terminal encrypts the random text according to its own configured encryption key and an encryption algorithm and sends it back to the access point. The access point decrypts the text according to its own key and checks whether it is identical to the original text. Following verification, the terminal is authenticated and can join the network; lack of verification leads to automatic rejection. Data encryption takes place between the access unit and all subscriber units it serves for all data frames. Again, encryption/decryption is based on a key provided by a proprietary pseudo-random number generator. Each key is a string of 32 hexadecimal numbers. Another limiting factor to the possibility of data interception is the unavailability of sniffing devices capable of detecting frequencies for networks utilizing Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) and OFDM. FHSS changes frequency within milliseconds rendering any attempt at synchronization virtually impossible. OFDM is a transmission technique that utilizes multiple sub-carriers that transmit simultaneously at different frequencies. In addition, StoneBridge Solutions include performance improving VLAN services and PPPoE connections to assure reliable and secure connectivity. StoneBridge customers may also add an additional layer of security with the implementation of a VPN. |
