June 11, 2004 - StoneBridge Wireless Broadband Announces Membership To Industry Certification Organization--WiMAX Forum

Burnsville, MN -- Minnnesota’s largest privately held Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP), has become a member of the WiMAX Forum, an industry organization that is leading the standardization, compliance and certification of the interoperability of broadband wireless access (BWA) products.

“WiMAX Forum Certified products will help lead to more innovative, commercially viable products across industries and global markets,” states Stephen C. Gowdy, President and Founder of StoneBridge Wireless Broadband. He adds, “More importantly, the impact on local businesses in Minnesota, Western Wisconsin will be significant. WiMAX certification will only help accelerate our extensive, industry leading reach to underserved broadband markets by reducing equipment and infrastructure costs. What’s more, it will bring competition and lower prices to local businesses in existing broadband Internet access markets by offering a less-expensive alternative.”

StoneBridge utilizes Line of Sight (LOS) and Non Line of Sight (NLOS) technologies to transmit signal from centrally located towers to customer locations.
